Personal Coaching

What is personal coaching in psychology?

What kind of coaching do you provide?

When we think of coaching, the first thing that typically comes to the mind is football, golf, professional, or business training of some kind.

In doing so, we inherently assume, that sports performance is primarily based on muscle strength, professional success is based on knowledge, and golf is merely the best way to spend the day out of the office.

Coaching is a method of directing or training a person with the aim to achieve a goal or develop specific skills.

Not all people need therapy. In fact, very few people need therapy. What most people can benefit from is coaching from an expert in the field they want to achieve results in. It all begins with an idea or a desire to achieve or change something. However, not many people know how to do this on their own.  There are basically two choice a person can make:

Start inventing the wheel from scratch.
Let the expert teach and guide in the right direction.

Coaching skills in psychology and NLP come from modeling successful people. Would you agree that the true experts in anything are those who have done it themselves ? It is important to remember that success leaves trails. Success has structure which can be modeled, learned and taught.
